Yesterday Universitario de Sucre brought home the National Football League to Sucre.
To secure the title, Universitario needed a single point from their clash with Sport Boys of Warnes. Things were looking bleak after home-side Sport Boys took the lead 11 minutes in with a goal by Carlos Mendoza. The scoreline stood defiantly against Universitario until Federico Silvestre put away the critical equalizer with just 10 minutes to go. The game ended in a draw, enough to secure the title for Universitario.
The champions returned to a hero’s welcome in Plaza 25 de Mayo. Nice work guys!
