3rd Annual Literacy Festival in Sucre

Biblioworks are currently raising funding in order to put on the 3rd Annual Literacy Festival in Sucre. They are seeking to raise $2000 for the event.

The festival will build on the success of the two previous festivals which together have paved the way to literacy for over 3000 children in Sucre. The third festival aims to have an even wider reach. The money raised for the event will be used to purchase books and materials to help organisations promote literacy, as well as to cover the cost of holding and advertising the event.

If you’d like to support the 3rd Annual Literacy Festival, help them reach the $2000 goal and support the development of literacy among Sucre’s most impoverished communities, Biblioworks are currently accepting donations. All donations are tax-deductible.

If you’d like to help out at the festival or in one of Biblioworks’ libraries, you can find out how by contacting volunteerbiblioworks@gmail.com.

The Biblioworks 3rd Annual Literacy Festival will be held on the 26th of April in the Casa de Cultura Municipal at #6 Calle Argentina.

Update (2 April): Congratulations to Biblioworks on reaching their target! Donations are still being accepted for the next week, and will go towards making the festival even better.

Update (1 May): The literacy festival is now been and gone. It was attended by more than 1,500 children and adults, and around 2000 books and magazines were distributed. Well done to everyone involved!
